Pimples, black/whiteheads, dry face, oily face and many others can be a beauty concern for you. The thing is, no matter your facial concerns, there is a solution for it even if it may not be permanent. To make a lot of our beauty concerns easy on us, there are tons of available beauty face masks to help treat some or even all of the problems we may encounter. In this post, I brought together some quick-penetrating face-boosters come in a variety of formats and formulations to help your complexion look its best.
What are beauty face/facial masks?
It’s not really a Halloween face costume but a mixture (especially fruits and other fresh products) that you apply on your face to take care of acne, dark spots, dry face, oily face etc. the result of using a face mask can vary according to skin type. Since they have no side/harmful effects, it is usually advised that you try the different masks you can find and see the one that works best for you.
They can come as product-soaked sheets, peel-offs, ripe fruits, clays or even a mix of good-for-skin ingredients. They are very useful whenever our skin seems particularly dehydrated or congested and depending on what skin issue you’re trying to target, certain face masks may work better than the others as each will have different benefits to balance your complexion and sort out your face problems.
How to make beauty face masks for beautiful skin at home
First off, I am all about natural and “fruity” beauty tips so I have put together some face masks made with fruits and natural ingredients that can keep your face smooth, healthy and glowing at all times. Here are some face masks that give amazing beauty results and how to make them:
(Watch the video below on how to make beauty face masks for a smooth, healthy and glowing skin if you prefer that)
1. Honey Face Mask:
Get pure honey and apply on your face. Leave for 15 minutes then rinse off with warm water.
Including turmeric
You can also try adding turmeric to the honey. Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory and can target your pores and calm the skin. It is also known to reduce scarring, brighten skin, and even help fight acne and resulting scars.
Honey, on the other hand, helps speeds up your skin cells’ healing processes.
Trust me,the combination of turmeric and honey face mask is unbeatable. Simply mix the two to form a paste and apply all over your face (and neck). Use your fingers to massage it in a scrubbing motion. Do this for 1 minute, leave the mask on for 15mins and wash off with warm water only.
2. Apple Face Mask:
Peel 2 apples and make a paste from them, add one tablespoon of oil and apply it on the face. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse off later.
3. Banana Face Mask:
Mash a ripe banana, add two teaspoons of honey and mix everything together into a smooth paste. Then gently spread it on your face. Let it sit for 10-20 minutes, and rinse off after. Do this once a week for a good result.
4. Tomato Face Mask:
Mash a ripe tomato and apply on your face. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.
5. Bran Face Mask:
Bran is the chaff from cereal grains. To make a mask from this, take 2 teaspoons of fine bran, add a quarter teaspoon of dried yeast, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of water to form a paste. Gently massage this on your face especially areas on and around the nose and chin area. Avoid the eye areas and rinse off with warm water after leaving it for 1-2 minutes.
6. Yoghurt and Honey Mask:
Mix one tablespoon of raw honey with one tablespoon of yoghurt. Apply to face, paying particular attention to the hairline, jawline and other acne-prone areas. Relax for 10 minutes and gently wipe off with a damp cloth.
7. Cinnamon and Honey Mask:
Mix two tablespoons of raw honey, one teaspoon of coconut oil and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Smooth over face. Keep away from eyes, as the cinnamon can be an irritant. Honey and cinnamon used together help to fight acne because of its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial properties.
Add a couple of drops of tea tree oil to either of the masks above during an active acne breakout. Tea tree oil is considered one of the best home remedies for acne.
How To make face masks for some facial issues
There are a few interesting face masks for some of your facial concerns like acne, oily skin etc, you can actually make all by yourself at home. Here are some face masks for common face problems you can make by yourself:
-
Face Mask for Blackheads:
A symptom of acne is blackheads and these are a pore pest that has affected most of us at some point in our lives. They usually form when a clogged hair follicle darkens after being exposed to oxygen. When you go shopping for a face mask for blackheads, avoid peel-off versions, as removing them could potentially damage the skin in the long run.
While it’s fine to apply a sheet mask to replenish the skin’s moisture loss, you can just try this simple Vaseline Jelly face mask for locking in skin moisture. This technique would work best when you concentrate on one small area at a time, especially the nose. You’ll need this Vaseline Jelly and a damp, heated hand towel. Simply apply a liberal layer of your Vaseline Jelly to the affected area (where you have the blackheads) and place the heated towel over it to warm it for 5-10 minutes. Do this on all the areas and watch it disappear in no time. This also helps clear the pores from dirt.
-
Face Mask for Acne:
Acne occurs when oil glands in our skin become inflamed or infected. To help with this, try applying bentonite or sulfur-based clay mask to gently draw out any impurities that might be exacerbating acne.
To make this facial clay mask you’ll need 1 tablespoon bentonite clay or Indian healing Clay and 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar. Mix these two ingredients together in a plastic bowl (don’t use metal to avoid it reacting to the mixture) and apply to your face. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
You can do this before bedtime for best results. Pat your face dry and apply a thin layer of a non-comedogenic moisturizer like this NatureFace Organic Gluten-Free Facial Moisturizer for all skin types. It is very lightweight, goes on smoothly, absorbs quickly, locks in natural moisture, hydrates and cleans and also heals and nourishes delicate facial skin. It can be used day or night and even worn under makeup.
On the other hand, you can also try sheet masks containing acne-fighting medications like this Rosehip Seed Extract Sheet Mask With Calendula Oil For Acne as another way to care for your skin to help prevent future breakouts.
-
Face Masks for Dry Skin:
Any dry skin is a dehydrated skin! When you’re not getting enough moisture into your skin, it can feel tight and uncomfortable, especially after cleansing. When you are dealing with extra-dry skin, apply a cream mask made with moisturizing and nourishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, coconut oil, avocado, or vitamin E. These ingredients can help bind water to the skin, and help to seal hydration into the skin.
I recommend this Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizing Overnight Gel Cream Face Mask with Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid which is gentle and non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores and still provides your dry skin with the moisture it needs.
This Advanced Clinical Skincare Set Coconut Oil Cream and Oil is fast-absorbing and instantly hydrates and moisturizes your skin giving you a healthy, glowing complexion. Or even this Deep Tissue Moisturizer Rich in Retinol, Avocado Oil & Vitamin E which gives a softer, smoother skin and improve the skin’s ability to retain moisture and reduce free-radical damage.
Avoid using peel-off face masks on dry skin, as removing the mask may strip the skin of moisture and this is not entirely healthy. Treating dry skin overnight is a good way to go. Try applying this night cream and top it off with a thin layer of Vaseline Jelly to effectively seal in moisture.

Korean Sheet Masks:
These are single-use product-soaked face masks that are an effective way to instantly give skin a boost of hydration while imparting it with different skin-beneficial ingredients tailored to different skin types.
Some popular and very effective Korean face mask include:
This is a set of 10pcs with 13 variety of Real Nature Mask containing Olive, Orange, Chamomile, Rose, Avocado, Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Green tea, tomato, Acai Berry, Royal jelly, bamboo and cucumber to make your beauty routine an enjoyable one. It is made to improve your skin hydration level and the paper is thin enough to help cling to your face shape comfortably with all holes just the right size.
This pack contains some amazing natural ingredients that deeply hydrates your face leaving you feeling cool and fresh.
This Korean Sheet Mask helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, re-hydrate dry skin, minimize and reduce the appearance of pores, reduce inflammation and helps to expel harmful toxins and free radicals.
Massaging a non-comedogenic moisturizer like Vaseline Jelly to lock in moisture is also advised. This would help skin repair its natural moisture barrier to help prevent future dry skin issues.
Conclusion
Face masks are a great option to soothe stressed skin with ease. Just remember to moisturize after using some face masks that aren’t made from purely natural ingredients to help you keep the skin hydrated. And only use the mask on clean face – wash your face with a mild soap/cleanser, wipe your face dry and apply the mask you choose.
Remember, consult a dermatologist before starting any new skincare routine to be sure you won’t get your skin into worse problems later.
