Highlighting and contouring the face has been a lot of struggle for most ladies and honestly, it can be annoying when you see people having that perfect look but you really do not know where to begin. Trust me, if your highlight and contour are properly done, you are already halfway to having that perfect face. Other makeup routines can blend in if these two are just the perfect fit on the face. Contouring is giving shape to an area of the face and enhancing the facial structure through makeup while highlighting is basically adding light to your face. This effect can actually be achieved by using two different shades of powder, cream and so on.
How To Highlight And Contour Your Face In Simple Steps
So, the things you need are your regular foundation which is usually the same colour as your skin tone and two other foundations (darker and lighter shades). You can also top the look off with this Waterproof Highlighter, Bronzer, Contour, Illuminator Palette. You can use a brush or your fingers for blending to get that finished look. But a brush would work perfectly well.
Here is a very simple process for achieving the look
Step 1
Start by applying your foundation which is the same colour as your skin tone.
Step 2
Now highlight your face by applying the foundation which is two shades lighter than your skin.
The foundation should be applied at;
- The centre of your forehead.
- Along your brow lines.
- Under your eyes.
- The centre of your chin.
- The section between the tip of your nose and the top of your lip.
- The centre of your nose.
Step 3
Now contour your face by applying the foundation which is two shades darker than your skin.
This should be applied at;
- The top of your forehead
- The right and left side of your forehead
- Along the left and right side of the nose
- Along your jawlines starting from your ear.
Step 4
Now you can blend them using your brush or fingers. It would be good to try to blend very well so that there won’t be any mark left on the face.
Step 5
After everything, you can choose to go ahead and dab a little of the Highlighter to give your face that extra glow.
The highlighter should be applied just on top your chin on both sides and should not be too much so it doesn’t look too shiny!
And tada!! Your finished look should be like the one above!

Determining your face shape is the first and most important step when highlighting and contouring. For each face shape, there is a slightly different placement of the highlight and contour.
Saved for the future!

yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.
